I was a regular reader and occasional 'commenter' on Gut Rumbles...I lost touch about a year and a half ago and on stopping by today was shocked and saddened to hear of Rob's passing. My condolences to his family, many friends, and readers. What a huge loss...

It had been a long time since I happened upon his blog and was soo terribly saddened to hear of his passing. My deepest sympathy to his family and friends. Thanks for letting me know you through your writings Rob, I wish I had been gutsy enough to write you when I could.

I really discovered Rob's blog after he was already gone from this world. I wish I had known him, he seems like one hell of a man.

Rob
Yours was the third blog I discovered and read on a daily basis, after those by Rachael Lucas and Kim du Toit.
I miss learning about music and musical instruments from you, and your knowledge and expertise in southern cooking (have to try boiled peanuts one of these years).
Miss hearing about your son, and your adventures and travels.
Most of all, I just miss your presence in my computer.
Wherever you are, may you have fair winds and following seas.

(I just found out today...)
During the time I was reading his BLOG, he sure made me mad - and he sure did left an impression.
God bless.

Rob,
The world was a better place with you present and your passing makes us all a little poorer. RIP

Rob was a daily bright spot for me.
Despite some of his rough edges he was after all "The AcidMan"!
Many others have shared so much about Rob's writings and gatherings that he was a part of. I can't add one thing to their words.
Condolences to the family.

Bejesus! I just now found out on Gutrumbles.com. I hadn't been there in a few weeks.
Rob linked me when I had my blog, (The Ville). I always admired and respected Rob because he told it straight and didn't care what anyone thought. I felt a connection to him because he was from Harlan County, as were most of my relatives.
Rob shook the blog world up and down and he was a shining star. Rest easy my fellow Kentuckian and God bless your family.
