Neva Elizabeth Brinson White
SAVANNAH – Neva Elizabeth Brinson White, 97, passed away at home on Wednesday, April 2, 2008. A native of Stillmore, GA, and a longtime resident of Savannah, she was a member of Bull Street Baptist Church. During World War II, Mrs. White was an instrument repair person at Hunter Army Airfield. She was a member and past president of the 37th Street School P.T.A. and was an active member of the Garden Club and the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was also a member of the National Society of the Colonial Dames and the Magna Charta Dames. Mrs. White was active in the retail ladies apparel business. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Joyce Howard (Wallace) Davis of Savannah. Surviving are her husband, Stanford White; her daughters, Cherry Howard Durrett (Bill) of Rincon and Joan Howard Wright (Bob) of Hallandale Beach, FL; eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday in the Hodgson Chapel of Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors. Rev. Earnie T. Pirkle, Rev. Michael Bass, and Rev. William E. Gardner will officiate. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. Remembrances may be made to Bull Street Baptist Church, 17 East Anderson St., Savannah, GA 31401 or Hospice Savannah, Inc., P.O.
